I composed this prayer in ChaaruChaamara metre on Sri Rama Navami of Shobhakrit (2023). CharuChamara means a pleasing chowrie/plume/fan. You can find such a quality in its rhythm!

भानुवंशभूषणं भास्करांशभासितं।
इन्दुलग्नजातमिन्दुसुन्दरं मनोहरं।
कोसलाधिपात्मजासुतं धितं क्रतूद्भवं।
राघवं विदेहजामनोहरं सदा भजे॥ १

श्रीवसिष्ठकौशिकादिबोधितं महामतिं।
ताटकादिदैत्यकूटमर्दने कपर्दिनं।
आर्षयागधर्षकासुरासुकृन्तनं घनं।
राघवं विदेहजामनोहरं सदा भजे॥ २

मैथिलीस्वयंवरे पिनाकतोडकं सखं।
जामदग्न्यदर्पताडकं सुतारकं हरिं।
धर्मतत्परं वरं धरासुताहृदालयं।
राघवं विदेहजामनोहरं सदा भजे॥ ३

गौतमादिपूजितं विशिष्टवर्तनं प्रभुं।
कीशवीरसेवितं जटायुमुक्तिदायकं।
योगिचित्तहृष्टिदं प्रदुष्टधृष्टिभंजकं।
राघवं विदेहजामनोहरं सदा भजे॥ ४

धीरसत्तमं सुविक्रमं सुनीतितत्परं।
सेतुकप्रबन्धकं महाकबन्धतारकं।
मेघनाथकुम्भकर्णदानवेशनाशकं।
राघवं विदेहजामनोहरं सदा भजे॥ ५

लक्ष्मणानुगम्यमानमंजनासुतेडितं।
जाम्बवद्विभीषणादिवत्सलं सुवर्चसं।
मौनिवृन्दभावितं सुरादिभिर्निषेवितं।
राघवं विदेहजामनोहरं सदा भजे॥ ६

त्यागिनं विरागिनं च राजधर्मपालिनं।
जानकीप्रियावियोगपीडितं विखेदितं।
वल्मिकोद्भवेडितं तनूजयुग्मवत्सलं।
राघवं विदेहजामनोहरं सदा भजे॥ ७

आत्मरूपकं हरिं वरं परं परात्परं।
वायुसूनुसेवितं महारिहं महामहं।
ब्रह्मरुद्रवासवादिसेवितांघ्रिवारिजं।
राघवं विदेहजामनोहरं सदा भजे॥ ८

Meaning

Eight verses in prayer of Raghava

(1) One who adorns the Solar dynasty (Surya vamsham), one who shines with a portion of solar energy, one who was born with ascendant ruled by Moon (Cancer), one who is beautiful like Moon, the enchanting one, son of the daughter of the king of Kosala kingdom, the bestowed one, born from a fire ritual, I always pray to Raghava, who enchants the daughter of Videha kingdom (Sita).

(2) One who is taught by Vasishtha, Viswamitra, great-minded one, one who is like Rudra (fierce) in crushing gangs of demons like Thaataka, one who cuts off the life force of demons attacking the fire rituals of rishis, one who is firm, I always pray to Raghava, who enchants the daughter of Videha kingdom (Sita).

(3) One who broke Pinaka (Shiva's bow) in the swayamvara (bridegroom selection) of Maithili (Sita), dear companion, one who destroyed the pride of Jamadagni's son (Bhargava Rama), one who helps cross well, one who is Vishnu himself, one who is committed to dharma, an excellent one, one who resides in the heart of the daughter of earth (Sita), I always pray to Raghava, who enchants the daughter of Videha kingdom (Sita).

(4) One who is worshipped by sages like Gautama, one who has very refined conduct, the king, one who is served by brave warrior monkeys, one who liberates Jatayu, one who gives rapture to the consciousness of yogis, one who destroys the boldness of the wicked, I always pray to Raghava, who enchants the daughter of Videha kingdom (Sita).

(5) Foremost among the intelligent and brave ones, one with great valor, one who is committed to good conduct and discretion, one who constructed a bridge (Ramasetu), one who helps cross the great water (the ocean also symbolizes samsara), the destroyer of Indrajit, Kumbhakarna and the kig of demons (Ravana), I always pray to Raghava, who enchants the daughter of Videha kingdom (Sita).

(6) One who is to be followed by Lakshmana, one who is prayed by the son of Anjana (Hanuman), one who is affectionate towards Jambavanta, Vibhishana etc, the splendid one, one who is contemplated by groups of Munis, one who is attended and honored by gods etc, I always pray to Raghava, who enchants the daughter of Videha kingdom (Sita).

(7) One who sacrifices, one who is detached, and one who obeys rajadharma (laws for kings), one who is troubled and very disturbed by separation from dear Janaki (Sita), one who is prayed by Valmiki, one who is affectionate towards his two sons, I always pray to Raghava, who enchants the daughter of Videha kingdom (Sita).

(8) One who is a personification of Self, one who is Vishnu, an excellent one, one who is beyond this cosmos, one who is beyond even what is beyond this cosmos, one who is served by the son of wind god (Hanuman), one who destroys great enemies, one who is the greatest of all, one whose lotus feet are worshipped by Brahma (creator), Rudra (destroyer), Indra etc, I always pray to Raghava, who enchants the daughter of Videha kingdom (Sita).

Final verse: May all the great human beings that chant this auspicious Raaghavaashtakam obtain liberation with the blessings of Ramachandra.
